I ran up at the capital today.  I did the Hansons-Brooks Brian Sell simulator run. Its where you get a course simular to the marathon course your training for.  It was in this months Runners World magazine. You switch Kilometers for miles so today I ran 26.2 Kilometers which equals 16.3.  I started out with a 6:50-7:00 minute mile for the first 4 miles then I got to my race pace of 5:35-5:50 for 3 miles then I hit the hills of City creek canyon. I ran 4 miles up the canyon at a 7:15 pace and then came down 4 miles with a 5:15-5:30 pace.  There were alot of runners up there this morning.  I saw some familiar faces from Locomotion and Salt Lake Track Club.  It was not cold at all and felt super great for a hard workout like this one.  I had alot of fun even though I was by myself and would like trying to do these more often with someone to push me.

Nice workout Walter. You will do well at St. Geo.

They had you in the Logan newspaper as a darkhorse favorite to win the race. Though they called you a marathon novice. Just a month ago they called you a veteran!

Those City Creek hills are killers! How can you run them so stinkin' fast???

Nice run!

Monte-thanks

Paul-are you going to do SGM?

Jon-I just got back from Logan from a Birthday party for my inlaws and saw that article in the paper. Boy, does that columnist like me or what? He said he felt there was a trio for the mens win between me, Sasha, and Eric. Too bad I didnt run now huh? I feel sheepish.

Teena-I really like running up there. I think the thoughts of bears and mountain lions keep me going! Thanks, there were alot of runners up there this morning.

Walter - no, I'm not running SGM. Marathons are too hard.
