I got up early and ran with Peggy, Cheryl, Kelli, Scott, Michelle, and I forgot the name of the other lady, please forgive! I ran to their meeting place which was 1.5 miles and ran a very dark few miles with them until we could finally make out who we were running with. We werent actually making out, more or less working out. We ran by my old neighborhood on Glenmore golfcoarse and then up to Daybreak. I got a total of 11.5 in and now im ready for my day to start.

Tonight I ran 7 miles up at the top of Millcreek canyon on the trail up to dog lake. Then around the lake and back down. I passed 2 mountain bikers going up and they dusted me on the way down.  It took me 26 minutes up and 21 minutes down.   I feel good right now like I could go for a couple more miles.  I think Im good, Ill go watch the Olympics now.

Glad you cleared up the making out thing. That's what I thought of when I first read your blog. Sounds like you have more fun running than I do.

From walter on Mon, Aug 18, 2008 at 09:34:29

Andy, I had to keep it family safe you know. I had to proof read it when I was done because sometimes I just type whats going through my head and it doesnt make complete sense. Now you all know my secret!

From Jody on Mon, Aug 18, 2008 at 10:03:18

I am sad I missed out! Sounds like it was a good run. I have an early dentist appointment - so no time to get out to SJ, run, home and to the dentist.

See you tomorrow.

From walter on Mon, Aug 18, 2008 at 10:20:30

Yeah, It was a nice cool run this morning. Just perfect temps. Id take the worst run over a dentist appointment anyday!lol See you tomorrow

From Sunnyrun on Mon, Aug 18, 2008 at 11:28:44

From walter on Mon, Aug 18, 2008 at 11:56:21

From Kelli on Mon, Aug 18, 2008 at 12:52:20

Warped sense of humor.

My husband enjoyed meeting the man I spent all last week BLOGGIN'!

Have a good day, Walter.

From walter on Mon, Aug 18, 2008 at 13:10:44

Thats me Kelli, Its like Cherly said this morning, Im so easy going and then you read my blog and bam! Hopefully nobody is offended by my blogs if you are too bad! I think I can communicate better by typing than actually talking. Its a talent in progress. I hope im not a threat to your husband. Im sure he can take me if it comes down to that. I'll put up the best fight possible. lol It was great to have him out. Oh you too.

From Kelli on Mon, Aug 18, 2008 at 13:31:45

Well, you kind of did scare him, I am not sure if I can get him to ever come back!

It is okay to hide your true self behind your blog, BUT I think you are really like that in person you just have not opened up yet. That is why we need to go on a date (wait, did she just ask Walter on a date?????) with our spouses. I would love to meet your wife!

From walter on Mon, Aug 18, 2008 at 13:41:01

Oh for sure Kelli! Im going to see if she will come to the speed workout tomorrow. I think that not being on a track may scare her a bit. But yeah, we can go out for sure. We're practically neighbors you know.

Im out of a truck, I had to take my rental back so now Im trying to figure how to go get mine. Enterprise took me home so I didnt have to run from the Auto mall in sandy thank goodness! So ill let you go.

From Cheryl on Mon, Aug 18, 2008 at 15:50:57

Walter--I love your sense of humor, it cracks me up. Knowing you have that side to you makes it easy to talk to you, so don't go changing!

From walter on Mon, Aug 18, 2008 at 17:29:32

Thanks Cheryl, Im glad were over that whole mistaken identity thing. Im glad your not a grudge holder. Ill do my best to keep things alive around here. You do the same!

From Logan on Mon, Aug 18, 2008 at 17:44:22

Walter,

I have a XC meet at SUU this Saturday so I won't be doing any races. I think I will do a 1/2 marathon race with Dave and Clyde down here in St. George but it won't be official.

From walter on Mon, Aug 18, 2008 at 17:51:52

Good luck to you in the SUU meet. Is it an invitational? I wonder if James' kids will be there? Have a good one. Ill see in on the next round.

From walter on Mon, Aug 18, 2008 at 18:01:30

One other thing Logan, we've been talking and Kelli brought up a good idea of having a pre race dinner down there similar to the one you put on in Ogden. Even if we went to the park under a pavilion early evening and did it I think we'd have a few bloggers out there to share some pasta! Maybe a little less bread this go around. what do you think?

From Logan on Mon, Aug 18, 2008 at 18:05:12

I would love to have another pasta dinner down here at our place for St. George but I am running the Twin Cities Marathon that same weekend in Minnesota so I will be gone.

From walter on Mon, Aug 18, 2008 at 18:18:36

Ok fine be that way!lol alright next time. Ill remember that. Good luck to you in that marathon! Isnt that where they filmed Little house on the prairie? lol Have fun, Ill see you later.

From Lucia on Mon, Aug 18, 2008 at 22:08:48

Wow, that's a lot of miles for a Monday, Wall-e! You sure you're not overdoing it?

From walter on Mon, Aug 18, 2008 at 22:16:32

I heard a little voice in my head around 6 pm your time that said. Walter better be putting in another 7 for me today! If I overdo it Ill come join you in pool therapy how does that sound!? Stay away from bubbles not coming out of the pool jets.

From cody on Mon, Aug 18, 2008 at 22:39:12

That Dog Lake run was one of my favorite runs of all time...I need to do it again. Nice Miles today.

From walter on Mon, Aug 18, 2008 at 22:47:18

You just tell me when your down and Im up for it! That was cool I put down and up in the same sentence. No im not High! Just tired from running.

Ill see you friday! Tell Jon to bring his helmut! lol

From Lucia on Mon, Aug 18, 2008 at 22:51:31

10 years in this country and that phrase still confuses me... "up for it" and "down with it" mean the same thing? Very confusing!

From walter on Mon, Aug 18, 2008 at 23:44:51

Thats whats so great about America Lucia, we just make it up as we go. lol You make me laugh. By the way what are you doing up so late? Did Jill run her 2 miles today?

From Michelle N. on Mon, Aug 18, 2008 at 23:47:29

Gee golly Wally, are you completely trying to fill up the whole entire "Hot Discussions" box on the right of the page. You have had a lot of "hot discussions" it looks like. My hubby tells me I talk a lot. Lol!!!!!!!

He is trying to win a popularity contest. He has my vote.

From JD on Tue, Aug 19, 2008 at 14:36:51

I used to live in Holladay and was in Millcreek Canyon just about everyday. I sure miss Dog Lake, and the Pipeline trail! That was a good run.

From walter on Tue, Aug 19, 2008 at 16:44:24

Kelli, Dont go there, Im not that type of person. Just outgoing thats all. Kind of shy, keep to myself kind of person. Enjoy talking to people seeing how they tick and making friends.

JD I love Millcreek canyon. Its soooo peacefull up there. Sometimes too peacefull
