Did a speed workout this morning. Started with Trick and my wife and then joined up with Peggy's group and Jody was there too.  I did a 2 mile warmup on the the track and did 3x200's(43,43,39) and then did 1x1200 3.49, 1x800 2.38, 1x400 1.19, 2 mile tempo run 6.56, 7.03 2x400 (1.18, 1.18), and 2x200's (35,34) 2 lap cooldown.  Good to finally meet Peggy, Cheris, Cheryl, and of Course Jody again.  My legs are thrashed from Saturday still but I always like to do speed workouts.  I ended up running 10 miles total.  Thanks for the ride home Jody! You saved my legs a bit.

Nice job today! It was great to get to see you run fast.

From walter on Tue, Aug 12, 2008 at 10:06:29

Thank you kindly! You are going to give Marcie a run for her money after you keep these up. You will look back and say "I actually ran an 8 minute mile pace!" Keep up the good work.

From Kelli on Tue, Aug 12, 2008 at 10:27:31

Are you people nuts??? Oh, wait, you are. I see you called the WBR FUN.

But, you ran so fast to avoid the sprinklers, so I get it!

How early do you guys start?

From Julie on Tue, Aug 12, 2008 at 10:46:09

You were so fast this morning I didn't get a chance to introduce myself. Hopefully next time. Great job.

From Cheryl on Tue, Aug 12, 2008 at 10:49:25

It was good to finally meet you too, Walter, and to meet the man who beat Lance Armstrong. That's a really impressive thing to have on your resume. Please join us again!

From walter on Tue, Aug 12, 2008 at 11:05:08

Kelli--Yes we are nuts! We started at 5:30 welcome to runners annonymous! My name is Walter, Hi Walter!

Julie--You guys have such a nice group of runners! Yes I will get to know you hopefully. I will try to get out on thursday with you all.

Cheryl--I wished I could say I beat Lance in a bike race, that would be even more impressive on a resume! I look forward to running with you guys again. I had no idea there were so many of you in this area!?

From Cheryl on Tue, Aug 12, 2008 at 11:08:39

Yes, there are many of us nutty people right here in the So. Jordan area. It's good to have others support us in our addiction. My name is Cheryl, and I'm a running addict, does anyone else want to join us?

From walter on Tue, Aug 12, 2008 at 11:24:57

Hi Cheryl! lol

From kellies on Tue, Aug 12, 2008 at 11:30:45

Thank you for the kind welcome to the blog. I have a long way to go to catch up to others on here but it is nice to know that I have a strong support team behind me :). Good luck with your runs and I look forward to keeping in touch on the blog. Have a good day!

From walter on Tue, Aug 12, 2008 at 11:57:18

Thats what we're here for! You'll be suprised how many people on here are in the same boat as you. Keep on with your goals and you'll be there sooner than you think.

From peggy on Tue, Aug 12, 2008 at 13:06:52

Like I said on my blog, Walter, it was fun to have you there to be our "rabbit" today.

Don't they say the first step to recovering from an addiction is recognition? Well, you guys may be addicted, but I'm not. I can stop any time I want! :)

From Kelli on Tue, Aug 12, 2008 at 15:03:05

DITTO Peggy! I run, therefore....I run, I guess!

My name is Kelli and I am a Kneader's chocolate mint brownie addict. THAT is why I run...so I can eat those every once in a while! Do you think there is a "healthy" version out there?

From Jody on Tue, Aug 12, 2008 at 15:11:57

My name is Jody and a a Kneade's chocolate mint brownie and running addict. Is there hope for me?

From Walter on Tue, Aug 12, 2008 at 22:41:48

Peggy-- same back at ya! Trust me, you are addicted Peggy. Its too late for you we have to look for alternative means here my friend! I dont know the whole 10 steps deal but I know denial is not just a river in Egypt! lol You crack me up!

Kelli--Thats a great motivational tool you have! Now that I know your weekness, I can entice you to meet with them with a plate of yummy, moist delicious Kneaders chocolate mint brownies! Yum

Jody--Same too you you are too far gone! I think the minute you wake up before say 6 am to go running is ubsurd. The brownie part I accept.

From Kelli on Tue, Aug 12, 2008 at 22:53:07

Oh goodnees. You are all hopeless.

Keep at it, that is why y'all kick my trash! I will do my best to stay away from Kneaders, and, if I have to go---I will at least run there (all .3 miles!!!) and hitch a ride home.

From Walter on Tue, Aug 12, 2008 at 23:04:27

Hey there will be no trash kickin on this blog. Just remember the more you talk the more you have to put up. Look at France! Talk about a tail tucking display they put on! Ouch! Go Team USA! Thats why I humbly invite you Kelli to run with them. No trash talk will be directed your way only mine ok! I think I can take a little heat so how does that sound?

From Kelli on Tue, Aug 12, 2008 at 23:21:37

Who am I running with? I am confused! I am not following the Olympics much, I fall asleep. You will have to fill me in.

Okay, no more kicking trash! I am awesome! You are awesome! We are ALL awesome (this I already knew---we run and so many others do not!) I could run away from that dang Great Dane if I had to!

Have a good night and happy running tomorrow.

From walter on Wed, Aug 13, 2008 at 00:24:13

I am peeing myself laughing kelli! Maybe you should carry mace and yell as you run at the great danes! Funny funny funny

From walter on Wed, Aug 13, 2008 at 00:41:31

As far as the Olympics go, France had told the press that the USA mens 4x100 swim had no chance against them and they would annialate us! Well, they led us after the 3rd leg and had a full length on us and we came back in the final 10 yards to win by .0700 seconds! The French were devastated literally as our 4 USA swimmers celebrated estatically. It was awesome.

From Kelli on Wed, Aug 13, 2008 at 12:18:06

YEAH, now I am not the only one peeing myself (or nearly, anyway). Can I run by you in a race so I will not be alone in that department? Oh wait, you are super fast---can I ride my bike by you??

And about the Olympics--DA!! I was tired. For some reason I thought you were talking about running (which has not even started, right?) I saw that relay (it might have just been a replay, not sure). I missed all of the trash talk before hand, but they talked about it enough that I got the picture. It was an awesome finish. And it was even cooler that Phelps had the presence of mind to be so gracious and go shake hands---an in your face moment. He is a cool guy!!

From walter on Wed, Aug 13, 2008 at 12:26:46

Oh for sure! I would have been biting my lip saying nice things to him and then at the last moment say "NOT" ha ha ha! I dont know what it is about the French that makes them feel superior to the rest of the World. I heard a story from my Grandmother who is from England and she said that in one of the wars between France and England the French told England that after they annililate them, they would cut off the middle fingers of the English. That is where flipping the bird came from because England destroyed them and then flipped them the middle finger to show them off! So rise and show off that middle finger you all! lol I hope no one from France is reading this.

From Kelli on Wed, Aug 13, 2008 at 12:32:55

Ah, that is an interesting tidbit! So, it would not be a bad thing then to flip off the French?? Kidding---I would never do that!

That was an awesome race. We have some great American swimmers. I have enjoyed watching them WIN! Swimming is HARD!!

From walter on Wed, Aug 13, 2008 at 12:39:49

I know, I started swimming last year and met alot of people in the pool when i did a routine every other day. Then I got some good tips from some of the swimmers and it helped me. I was going to tell you in this race saturday at the start there was hardly any pottis and I found some brush and started going and these two girls came right up to me and the one turned herself around and went right by me! Her head was waist high to me so she had no where to look but right at it. Oh my freakin' heck! I was laughing for a few minutes.

From Kelli on Wed, Aug 13, 2008 at 12:45:32

THAT IS FUNNY!!!!! However, I though there were plenty of potties!! Did you guys all miss them or something? The lines were not even that bad! I think y'all just like going in nature---that will teach you a lesson or two! How'd your wife like that story?

From walter on Wed, Aug 13, 2008 at 12:56:00

She told me I should have turned and peed on her! Those lines at the porta johns were forever long! There were none on the course and zero at the finish.

From Kelli on Wed, Aug 13, 2008 at 13:26:19

Did we run a different race? Well, I did take one of the first buses up, so I guess I just got there early! The potties along the way were too far and few between---it caused me to lose minutes!!!

I was thinking your "moment" would have been racked with silence, good for her for not making the moment worse and daring to speak!!

From walter on Wed, Aug 13, 2008 at 13:39:57

Yeah I was waiting for her to say, whats up!?

From Kelli on Wed, Aug 13, 2008 at 16:34:41

Oh my heck! You crack me up!

From walter on Wed, Aug 13, 2008 at 17:40:42

The sad part is they started laughing after they walked out of the bush. I hope its because they were embarrased and not the whole manhood joke! Us guys have a tough reputation to uphold you know! jk lol

From Kelli on Wed, Aug 13, 2008 at 17:43:47

Really, Walter, what more could one do than laugh---otherwise it just would have been awkward. I am sure it had nothing to do with anything else, that would have been just plain rude!

From MichelleL on Thu, Aug 14, 2008 at 22:08:12

Boy am I sorry I checked out what this hot topic is. I feel like I've walked into a private room. . .

From walter on Thu, Aug 14, 2008 at 23:21:52

Get your towel MichelleL and hop into this steam room! lol No faint of heart in here!

From Cheryl on Thu, Aug 14, 2008 at 23:40:24

This is great when we get Michelle L to join in the blog discussion. Walter and Kelli have really livened things up around here. And I ran with both of them this morning, I feel very privileged.

From Kelli on Fri, Aug 15, 2008 at 14:04:29

Yes, I talk too much. It is a sad, but rarely fatal disease.
