Wow, what a chaotic morning! I got up to the top and tried to get my pacers organized and there were some that were scary late! I didnt have time to warm up but I couldnt if I tried. I took pedialyte with my dinner because yesterdays work in the heat drained me. I thought it would help but it gave me stomach issues. I went twice before the race and felt better but my gut was a rumbling. I started the race off with a 4:57 right behind Scott Keate and another guy. It felt ok but I couldnt get my legs moving after that. Mile 2 was 5:21 and Justin passed me on this mile and I was in 4th. I felt real tired and sluggish. Mile 3 was 5:21 again. No matter what I did, I couldnt seem to go faster than that. Funny because AF half I was busting below 5 till the bottom. Mile 4 was5:26. Steve passed me and I told him I wasnt feeling good, I couldnt keep with him. Mile 5 was 5:13, Lindsey passed me as well and when she got by me I was amazed at how quiet she runs! Her form is so light and its like watching a kenyan. Her Bright pink shoes were pshyching me out. I got to look at them the whole rest of the way. lol Mile 6 was 5:11, 7 was 5:16. Mlie 8 was 5:28, 9 was 5:52, 10 was 6:02. I guess I can thank Lindsey for pushing me out of the 5:20 slump to stay with her till the rollers. I found myself gaining on her on every roller and then she would gap me on the down hill parts. Mile 11 was 5:45, 12 was 6 and 13 was 5:44. Then a 19 second .1.  Fun race and great course. I was a bit tired from all the races Ive run. A perfect race for Scott! Wow he is on fire my friends! Justin Park is kicking some trash as well! I love running with those guys! Oh and Steve kicked my butt after running a marathon 4 days ago! How the Hell? Very good to see Lindsey Dunkley out and I hope she keeps it up with the talent she has. Not to brag but theres not too many times a lady dominates me in a race. I guess Im bragging for both of us. Excellent work and I hope you still take me up on your offer to be your coach when you qualify for the Olympics. :) It will help me with my book. Great Pr's today from a lot of my friends!

Sorry about your tummy! Maybe payback for "releasing your gasses" in the direction of Mr. Friendly on Tuesday?

You are awesome!!! You are juggling everything so well. Seriously ... AMAZING!!! :)

Nice race (again!) Walter!

Well, she maybe weighs 80 pounds...she is like an elf.

Great day today Walter. I think the stress of getting the pacers out there would be about all I could handle!

A good race for you and an even better race report. I liked your comments about being psyched out by Lindsey's pink shoes :-) She has blown my doors off before as well--very humbling. You're a class act. I am with you on Steve, "What the H...?"

From Lindsey Dunkley on Sat, Jul 28, 2012 at 18:13:55 from 67.2.52.125

Thanks for all the kinds words! Great job to you today...if I had done des news on tuesday like most of you, I would have not been where I was today. So props to you and the others for a crazy hard double. Good job!!

I thought for sure you were going to PR that race since it was a much better start. I predict TOU Half will be your best time on that course this year.

Why haven't you ever made comments about MY whisper quiet stride behind you?

And I know you just gave me this one cause Kristi was up here this weekend. Thanks!

TM, I'm glad it was only gasses.

Jake-thanks!...again.

Kelli, it was extremely stressful to try and concentrate on racing when I was worried weather my 3 late pacers were going to show up. Next time I will ask for help.

Lindsey, I was able to stay close to the two fast runners I coached at Herriman HS in the Des News 10k. I wished I could recover as fast as they do! Great running with you as always!

Steve, your stride is long and awkward. Sorry but I am amazed at your running ability. Ias I passed two marathoners, they were commenting on your long stride. I guess I noticed it after they said that. You amaze me and yes I want Kristi to come with us to Powell so I figured I'd help the situation with you two out. Just between us aight?

Solid race Walt. I'm excited to see what your fitness will bring for the fall marathon. Should be a good one!
