I went into this race with a goal to try and push my pace to keep up with the competition. I felt pretty good for 6 and then fell to pieces. Not a PR from trying to run a faster pace then my body could handle at this time. Mt daughter Sarah ran it today and I was so proud of her! Misty ran with her being pregnant. It was fun to hang out with Kelli and Rachel! I love you guys! Thanks for the watch Kelli! They gave away 2 treadmills at the end and lots of prizes. Its a very great race and 2200 runners showed up. Ill try to post some pics on here when I get back to my computer. It was good to see Jon Cody Paul and Matt who are the local yocals! Good to see Bec and her friend. I know I missed friends I'm old! Forgive me!

Nice job today Walter, and thanks for getting me in! You had some tough competition today! That was also a great dress rehearsal for what is coming in three weeks.

From Jon on Sun, Aug 30, 2009 at 09:43:24 from 75.169.148.99

Nice job, Walter. It was good to see you. Are you coming up to TOU marathon, also?

Always great seeing you Walter. Sorry you didn't have the race you wanted, but still, nice job. I usually don't welcome SLC folk at our nice little local races, but extend an exception for you.

From Superfly on Sun, Aug 30, 2009 at 19:37:50 from 208.117.127.110

Nice job Walt. Your always a trooper about everything and meet it with such a positive attitude. Keep making people smile.

Holy crap you're fast!!

From Walter on Mon, Aug 31, 2009 at 00:02:33 from 76.27.15.208

MarkP, Thanks!

Smooth, Im pretty computer illiterate so I may be slow on the pic thing. Im on facebook though! type in my name and ill add you.

Teena, running with you wore me out! I was heavy legged at mile 6.

Scott, Ill private mail you my email. Thanks for that.

Becca, that was very rough for me for some reason. Many factors but no excuses. Your welcome for the entry. I wished Sarah wouldve told me when she was standing there, i couldve got her in for the 30 buck price too. Im good friends with Kris.

Jon, I am coming up to run the marathon. I need to quit slacking on my miles. Im not going to taper for TOU so itll be interesting to see how my body reacts. I really want to run hard and try to keep up with you. Id love to break my 2:40 mark. I really loved the way Joe Wilson ran yesterday. He started at a 5:35 pace and hit every mile that way. I wished I could do that!

Burt, I used Kellis watch and gave it back to her without looking at my splits. I may have to bug her for them. Dont let her kid you if she links them to her page. haha

Lori, great to see you too! Did I tell you id be zoned out or what? You shouldve looked for me at the finish too! yeah right huh? it was so busy! Glad to see your still at it!

Kelli, ill send the pics to you or you can copy them off my facebook and post them on yours for me! Oh your face is the best!

Paul, I love Logan and all the beauty you guys have in your back yard. I have been doing this race for 6 years now and consider being a local with my wifes ties up there growing up in Lewiston. There is a lot of talent up there also, especially in biking! sheesh! Im still yet to beat Jason in a Triathlon.

Clyde, this race was funny to me. I was physically spent but felt awesome at the end. All the other races ive run this year ive felt pretty good besides taking a bathroom break and felt horrible afterwards for days in fact. I am not a veteran by all means, every race I learn more and more. Like you cant come up in Logan and beat Jon and Paul! Cody just about nipped me too. I think theyve been secretly planning an assault on me. haha jk Great guys to run with and against.

JD, I didnt have to crap either! My new PB! a whole race without even blinking at the portapotti!

From Craig on Mon, Aug 31, 2009 at 19:12:52 from 63.167.171.20

So I'm wondering what Sasha would say about them giving out so many prizes at the end. Was it a raffle?

From argentinerocket on Tue, Sep 01, 2009 at 10:56:54 from 74.9.147.114

Good job Walter! You're super fast even when you're not having a good day!

From Walter on Thu, Sep 03, 2009 at 18:47:04 from 76.27.15.208

Craig, he may forget the reason they can comp him in is because of all the runners that attend. To spark interest to runners, they give them prizes at the end. Its not all about the Elite runner that makes these races so popular. Thats why im surprised most races give out comps at all! I love TOU for the small town feel with a Chicago marathon prize money and 2 treadmills!

Lucia, ah thanks
