I ran 3.29 easy miles at a 7:15 pace and then did a Stake 5k that our church put on.  I took first place for 3.42 miles at a 5:24 pace. My finish time was 18:27.  Its been a while since ive won a race!  Im counting this as a good speed workout and I got a doughnut for my effort! Sweet!  I hold the course record by the way so if any of you courageous runners faster than me want to try next year,  get a hold of my bishop.  He'll send a couple of our "friends" over to talk to you!

I'm not afraid! I'll shatter your record!

Glad to see you are feeling good enough to run again. Are you thinking of doing Ogden?

From josse on Sat, May 03, 2008 at 12:58:23

Ogden is full so if your not already signed up than that is a no go.

From josse on Sat, May 03, 2008 at 12:59:07

Oh ya great job on winnig all those out of shape people in you stake;)

From Tom on Sat, May 03, 2008 at 13:30:58

Good job on the race! Looks like the stake people had a hard time figuring out how long 5K is supposed to be.

From Walter on Sat, May 03, 2008 at 13:49:23

Ok Jon bring it! jk dont hurt me! I am still planning ogden and I hope to be recovered by then.

Hey Josse, I am signed up for ogden already, and thanks for the confidence builder! There was a good runner that just got off his mission and was a bit slower than me thank goodness! but there was about a 10 minute gap after us!

Tom, thanks for the comment, maybe we can get some bloggers there next year!

Way to show those people what running is all about, Walter!

From Walter on Sun, May 04, 2008 at 11:35:48

You know lybi that sometimes you need a low key event to help your psychological needs! Plus, I couldn't let anyone take my course status away. Jk. You wouldnt believe how competitive our neighborhood is. I have a biker that lives a couple houses down from me that is so competitive so I watched for a triathlon he signed up for and entered it just so I could humble him! Our neighborhood consists of alot of "jinglers" from the scriptures! you know the ones that show off their wealth and ability so much that they make a jingle sound when they move.
